Newport Road – Constantino’s Ice Cream (June 1940)

This photo, taken on 10th June 1940, is of Constantino’s Ice Cream Parlour at Newport Road; the ice cream parlour was attacked and vandalised in the anti-Italian disturbances, after Italy declared war on Britain and the Allies.

  1. Nardones ice cream parlour was on Newport Road nearly opposite the Acklam pub.and Ralph Rea has a shop for sweets and ice cream on the same stretch,with bargate and punch street separating .
