About

My Town, My Future is an exciting project looking at the past, present and future of Middlesbrough. We’ve been working with volunteers to digitise our fantastic collection of historic photographs of Middlesbrough, some of which have never been seen by the public, and now we’re posting them all right here on this website.

The people of Middlesbrough are at the heart of what we’re doing, so we’re encouraging you to get involved by leaving lots of comments on our posts, as well as sharing them on Facebook and Twitter. We want to hear all about your memories, whether you’ve spotted your old school, someone you know, or you have stories passed down through the family about one of the places we’ve posted about.

We’d love to feature your photos and hear the stories behind them too; just have a look at the submit your photo page to find out how.

My Town, My Future is an Arts Council-funded project, run by Middlesbrough Council’s Culture and Communities service.
