  1. Edmund Cone was my great grandfather. I’ve seen his pages in the booklet created to mark the coronation of King Edward VII and I know he attended the opening of the Transporter Bridge in 1911. If anyone has any additional information about him, I’d be very grateful to receive it. Thank you.

    • Hi Diane
I have just been reading your message. Edmund was also my great, great uncle. I was also aware of the information you have already given. If you let me have your email I am happy to liaise with you.

      • Hello Susan
It’s great to hear from you and to know I’ve made contact with someone related to the Cone family still living in Middlesbrough. I’d be grateful for any information relating to Edmund and his siblings, especially my great grandfather, Joseph Cone, born 1850. He eventually moved to Barnsley with his wife, Maria Horsley. Their daughter, Alice Cone, was my father’s mother but I never knew her or my father’s father as they both died when my father was just a boy if 14/15. I’d be really interested to know if you could shed any light on Joseph’s move to Barnsley and to hear about your family connections.
        Many thanks for responding.
        Regards

  2. Hi Diane, thanks for your reply and interesting to know your connection. I do have information as someone did a family tree but I don’t really want to use this avenue to put down personal information. Joseph was born 1860 and was the 6th child out of 10. Joseph had five children. My great grandfather was William, first born of the family in 1849. I must admit I have no idea why Joseph and Maria moved to Barnsley so can’t help you with that. Are you on Facebook or What’s App?
