This photo is of a painting of the Town Council Chamber in the Old Town Hall, by J Thompson Dunning in 1884. The Old Town Hall was the seat of the Town Council Chambers from 1852 to 1886; the Town Council then moved its seat to the new Middlesbrough Town Hall in 1886.
