1. Mr James was the Editor when I was 15 and started work as Copy Boy in the Subs Room. My wages were £2 15 shillings a week. At christmas he gave me 12 shillings and sixpence as a gift. A real gentleman great days, a great newspaper then, I went on to work 35 years for the paper.
