Mayor Of Middlesbrough Chair

This photo is of the Mayor of Middlesbrough’s Chair; it was made from oak timber that was said to have originally come from the Middlesbrough Priory of St Hilda, and in 1846, it was taken from the Old Middlesbrough Farmhouse. The chair was produced by Mr. Marshall of Northallerton under the supervision of Robert Wilson. It was Wilson himself who presented the chair to the Council.
