I love that Middlesbrough’s planners had a penchant for planting trees in the gutter. It can be seen on pictures from the time of Albert Road, Corporation Road and Kings Road, North Ormesby. Planners over the generations always seem to planting saplings only to rip them up when they have the audacity to mature. The only survivor seems to be the one on Baxter Street next to the Green Tree pub.
