This is really interesting. Marton Rd to the lower right just seems to peter out, and yet the street plan between Marton Rd, Keith Rd and Saltersgill Aveneue is almost exactly the same as today. It appears to be (and was) quite rural south of this area – where my old school St Mary’s College was to be built. Glendale Rd not yet fully extended across to where the new estate at Tollesby was to be developed – I can remember the construction as we lived nearby. There were fields all the way out to Ladgate Lane.
I think on the extreme left is the old St. Luke’s hospital.
