My grandfather owned or ran this hotel from about 1904 until about 1924. His name was John Edward Lloyd. He was born in 1864 and died in 1932. He wife was Sarah Ann (nee Flowers) who died in 1941. The had 9 children.
My Grandfather named after his father was John Edward Lloyd (b1890) he left the Globe and went to run the Nags Head at Lazenby and from there moved to the Devenport on Linthorpe Road. My grandad died 1974. My uncle Clive Burton ran the Globe sometime prior to 1960.
My mam and dad had the globe 1960 till it got demolished ,vincent mcgurk
