My grandfather owned or ran this hotel from about 1904 until about 1924. His name was John Edward Lloyd. He was born in 1864 and died in 1932. He wife was Sarah Ann (nee Flowers) who died in 1941. The had 9 children.
My Grandfather named after his father was John Edward Lloyd (b1890) he left the Globe and went to run the Nags Head at Lazenby and from there moved to the Devenport on Linthorpe Road. My grandad died 1974. My uncle Clive Burton ran the Globe sometime prior to 1960.
Looking at my family tree, my grandmother was Rose Hannah Lloyd born in 1887. Her mother was also Hannah Lloyd, born in America but resident in the Globe in 1920 – so probably one of the 9 children you mention in your post.
My grandmother married a Boro footballer and they ran The Navigation after he stopped playing due to injury.

I have a photo of the Globe in 1930(?) with my grandfather, Patrick Hanratty, standing outside. He was running this pub after being a barman at the Black Lion Hotel.
