      • HI ROY MY NAME IS JOHN OLIVER AND I WENT TO LADGATE FROM 1964 TO 1969. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER RADIO LADGATE WHICH MR LOKEY FORMED WHILE I WAS THERE. MRS STONES, MRS BRUIN, MRS KIDD, AND MRS HOPE FROM THE INFANT SIDE. GREAT TIMES AND MEMORIES.

  2. I went to Ladgate left in 1965. I met Mr Downed deputy head in the late seventies he was working as a storeman for a pub operator. He said he’d had a responsible job all his life and just wanted to do something with no responsibility.

  3. Can’t believe it’s closed. It was an excellent school. I started there when it first opened and left in 1961. I lived on Tanhill Walk and can remember seeing it being built. I remember Mr Reece, a wonderful head teacher, Miss Watson, Mr Downs and especially Mr Harry Burton – a natural teacher.
