I went to Ladgate left in 1965. I met Mr Downed deputy head in the late seventies he was working as a storeman for a pub operator. He said he’d had a responsible job all his life and just wanted to do something with no responsibility.
My old school, I lived on Penrith Road. Can’t believe it closed!
Can’t believe it’s closed. It was an excellent school. I started there when it first opened and left in 1961. I lived on Tanhill Walk and can remember seeing it being built. I remember Mr Reece, a wonderful head teacher, Miss Watson, Mr Downs and especially Mr Harry Burton – a natural teacher.
I remember attending this great.school back in the 60s, I lived in Cheadle walk
