This hand painted image, produced at a unknown date, is of the Hugh Bell School in Albert Road, near the Middlesbrough Town Hall. The school is listed as ‘Higher Grade Schools.’
Having passed The Scholarship I went there from 1952 until I left in 1956.
In 1954 the school moved and became Stainsby Boys school.
I doubt anybody will remember me!!
I went to Hugh Bell boys school when it was a secondary modern school from 1962 to 66. The girls school was next door. Mr Grant was the headmaster and Mr Ashton was my teacher.
I was there from 1960 until 1963, I recall Mr Ashton was the art teacher and Mr Grant as being the headmaster. Pity they pulled it down. Great times I recall. Anybody eemember me.?
