This photo is of the grave of William Joseph Bruce, taken in 2000. Bruce served as mayor from 1912 – 1913, and was the Honorary Freeman of Middlesbrough. He died at the age of 83 on June 27th 1938. His wife, Mary, outlived him for over a year, and was buried with her husband.
