  1. My Grandad was in North Ormesby hospital in the early 1970s. It was very handy for me to visit because I was working at North Ormesby library (the old building next to the Police Station) at the time.

  2. My Mum was one of the last patients in North Ormesby Hospital and transferred to South Cleveland as it was then when it closed. From memory, the site seemed to have expended over the years from the original building. My Dad always told me that North Ormesby was originally built in the 1800’s as a Cottage Hospital funded by Dorman Long Steel Works based nearby at Cargo Fleet.
